WINGSHOOTING · ENTRE RÍOS

Ducks at dawn.
Dove and perdiz after lunch.

Argentina’s most complete wingshooting programme — duck hunting at first light, high-volume dove and perdiz over pointing dogs in the afternoon, all from one Entre Ríos lodge. No domestic flight, 2.5 hours from Buenos Aires.

Morning on the water.
Afternoon in the fields.

The mix bag is built around a natural daily rhythm: duck hunting at dawn, then dove and perdiz after lunch. On dove-only days the group shoots all day. The week combines both formats according to the group’s preference.

● MORNING — PRE-DAWN TO MID-MORNING
Duck
Multiple species — Lagoons & marshes
Duck hunting in Entre Ríos starts before first light, in the blinds at the edge of the lagoons and flooded fields that border the lodge territory. The shooting is technical and varied — teal, shovelers, rosy-bills, and black-bellied whistling-ducks depending on the season. A classic Argentine duck morning finishes by 10am, leaving the afternoon open for a full dove and perdiz session.
● AFTERNOON — AFTER LUNCH
Dove & Perdiz
Zenaida auriculata — Nothura maculosa
The afternoon combines two completely different types of wingshooting. Dove (eared dove and white-winged dove) are shot at high volume at the feeding stands. Perdiz are hunted over well-trained pointing dogs on open grassland — methodical, quiet, and demanding. The two styles alternate within the afternoon or across days depending on the rotation the group prefers.
● ALL DAY — DOVE-ONLY VARIATION
Dove Only
Full-day high-volume wingshooting
On dove-only days, the group shoots all day — starting at first light and running continuous sessions through the morning and into the afternoon. These days produce the highest shell counts of the trip and are ideal for guests who want to maximize volume. Most mix bag programmes include one or two dove-only days alongside the duck mornings.

How a five-day mix bag typically runs.

The exact rotation is built around your group. The standard format alternates duck mornings with dove-and-perdiz afternoons, with one or two dove-only full days for maximum volume.

Why Entre Ríos wins the mix bag argument.

Córdoba has a reputation as Argentina’s dove capital — and in terms of raw dove volume, that reputation is earned. But if you want variety in a single trip, the comparison shifts quickly.

CATEGORY ENTRE RÍOS CÓRDOBA
Dove volume High volume — comparable season Highest ceiling in Argentina
Perdiz over dogs Full programme, same lodge Not available
Pigeon shooting Agricultural roost flights Not a standard offering
Duck hunting April – August season Not available
Domestic flight required No — 2.5h by road from EZE Yes — 1.5h domestic flight to Córdoba city
Lodge changes during trip One lodge, all species Single-species; moving required for variety
Species in one week Up to 4 (dove, perdiz, pigeon, duck) 1 (dove only)

Córdoba is the right destination for hunters who want maximum dove volume and nothing else. Entre Ríos is the right destination for hunters who want a complete Argentine wingshooting experience in one trip.

Everything about the mix bag.

What is a mix bag hunting programme?
A mix bag programme combines multiple huntable species in a single trip. At NP Outdoors in Entre Ríos, the format centres on duck hunting at dawn, followed by high-volume dove shooting and perdiz over pointing dogs in the afternoon — all from the same lodge. The five-day programme includes duck mornings, afternoon dove and perdiz sessions, and dove-only full days for maximum volume. Optional additions include a cast and blast day (morning fishing for Golden Dorado on the Paraná, afternoon dove) or additional species depending on the season.
Why is Entre Ríos better than Córdoba for a mix bag hunt?
Córdoba is a single-species destination: dove. The volume can be exceptional, but that is all you can hunt there — perdiz and pigeon are not part of the programme, and you need a domestic flight to get there from Buenos Aires. Entre Ríos offers dove at comparable volume, plus perdiz over pointing dogs, pigeon on agricultural roosts, and optional duck. All from the same lodge, 2.5 hours from EZE by road. If you want variety in a single trip, Entre Ríos is the only Argentine destination that delivers it.
What does a typical mix bag day look like?
Duck days begin pre-dawn: the group reaches the blinds at first light and shoots until mid-morning, then returns to the lodge for breakfast. After lunch, the programme moves to high-volume dove fields, with an optional perdiz session over pointing dogs late in the afternoon. On dove-only days, you shoot from first light straight through to late afternoon for maximum volume. There is no fixed schedule — days are designed around species activity and conditions.
What species can I hunt on a mix bag trip in Entre Ríos?
The primary mix bag species are eared dove (paloma torcaza), white-winged dove (paloma picazuró), perdiz (Nothura maculosa, hunted over pointing dogs), and spot-winged pigeon (paloma manchada). Duck hunting is also available from April through August and can be added to any mix bag programme during those months.
Do I need a domestic flight to reach Entre Ríos?
No. Entre Ríos is 2.5 hours from Ezeiza International Airport (EZE) by private vehicle. NP Outdoors meets guests inside the terminal and drives directly to the lodge. No connection flight, no second airport, no lost afternoon. You land in Buenos Aires and are in the field the following morning.
How many days does a mix bag trip take?
The standard programme is 4 nights and 5 hunting days. This gives enough time for a full rotation of species without rushing any of them. Groups can extend to 5 nights / 6 days for more variety, or shorten to 3 nights / 4 days if travel windows are tight. All variations are custom-quoted.
